Felting needles are used to entangle fibers.
Needle felting is a process which uses barbed needles to interlock wool fibers to form a more condensed material. Wool fibers have scales which when rubbed against each other catch and lock into place to create this denser material called felt.
I currently carry three gauges of needle. Other needle types such as reverse, star and spiral can be ordered.
Course 32 Guage Medium 36 Guage and Fine 40 Guage
Course gauge felting needles grab lots of fiber, where as fine gauge needles grab very little. Course gauge needles make quick progress when starting projects. Fine gauge needles are for smoothing and finishing the surface of your projects and for adding fine lines and details.
The term “gauge” refers to the thickness of the needle— the higher the gauge number, the thinner the needle.
Sold individually, larger numbers can be ordered.
