Mindfulness: Staying Present In Difficult Times.

Latest design ‘The Candy Cane Cap’ for Rebecca Page Holidays Summit.

Life can be challenging at times. I’ve learned how much easier life can be when I stop regretting the past and worrying about the future. Both are bad habits I am working to eliminate. Habits long established which will take time and conscious effort to eliminate.

Staying present can feel near impossible, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of life.

By using creativity as a tool, I can work on staying grounded in the present moment.

Embracing the Power of Imagination

When I use my imagination it helps me be present in the moment. Using my senses and developing my creations, I can fully immerse myself in the here and now. Whether it’s through designing my next pattern, knitting, spinning, or daydreaming, allowing my imagination to roam freely helps me to break free from the regrets of the past and fortune telling the future, steering me towards a state of mindfulness.

Finding Flow through Creative Activities

Engaging in creative activities induces a state of flow – that feeling of being fully absorbed in an activity, losing track of time and worries. Whether it’s crocheting, weaving, or knitting, immersing myself in creativity redirects my thinking from external stressors to the joy of the present moment. By immersing in my creativity, I experience a sense of purpose and contentment.

Mindful Artistic Expression

Artistic expression is a powerful tool for staying present. Whether it’s through felting, writing, painting, or any other form of artistic expression, creating something from within allows me to connect to my emotions. Helping me to understand and clarify them. By immersing myself in the creative process, I cultivate a state of mindfulness, fully experiencing each stitch, word written, or line drawn. This connection with the present moment brings me peace and clarity.

Cultivating Mindfulness in Everyday Activities

I am using creativity in my everyday life, it turns everyday tasks into mindful experiences. Whether it’s washing the dishes, cleaning, or organising my yarn stash. By embracing my creativity I can fully engage in my senses and appreciating the beauty around me.

In a world that constantly demands attention, finding ways to stay present is something I do to cultivate mindfulness and reconnect with the present moment. Through imagination, creative activities, expressing myself artistically; embracing my creativity allows me to remain peaceful in daily life.

I am using my creativity and discovering who I am, as I stay present one day at a time.
