Scrub-a-Bub washcloth/ dishcloth

The texture of this washcloth makes it perfect for scrubbing little ones clean, lovely and soft in  Heirloom 8ply Cotton or a little sturdier in Fiddlesticks Finch 10ply cotton, for washing the dishes.

To save time you could always wash the baby and the dishes at the same time! (JOKE! Please don’t)

Solid colour 10ply Scrub-a-Bub

Dishcloth

Yarn: Fiddlesticks Finch 10ply cotton 70gms (just makes two)

Hook: 5mm

Abbreviations:

  • Ch – chain
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Dtr – Double treble
  • Slst – Slip Stitch

Size: 20cm square

Pattern

Chain 26

Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook dc, dc into each ch across, 1 ch turn (25 dc)

Row 2: ( dc, dtr) across, dc in last st, 1ch turn( 13, dc, 12 dtr)

Row 3:  dc across, 1 ch turn (25 dc)

Repeat rows 2 & 3 eleven times more

Striped 8ply Scrub-a-Bub

Washcloth

Yarn: Heirloom Cotton 8ply 2 colours for striped version.

Hook: 3.5mm

Abbreviations:

  • Ch – chain
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Dtr – Double treble
  • Slst – Slip Stitch

Size: 20cm x 22cm

Pattern

With Colour A. Chain 34

**Change colours every two rows**

Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook dc, dc into each ch across, 1 ch turn (33 dc)

Row 2: ( dc, dtr) across, dc in last st, 1ch turn( 17 dc, 16 dtr) (Change to colour B)

Row 3: dc across, 1 ch turn (33 dc)

Repeat rows 2 & 3  Eighteen times more.

Border for both versions

Do not turn work, working along side of cloth, dc into each row end. In corner work 3 dc. Dc across start chain, 3 dc in corner, dc in each row end, 3 dc in corner, dc across top, join with slst. Break and finish yarn.
